Hello! From Tuesday, November 26 through Sunday, December 1, we will not be at the office; we are giving our employees all a break! Because of this, we'll answer all your inquires and issues on Monday. Please note that any critical issues will be resolved immediately, although we hope to avoid that! Happy Thanksgiving!

Holiday support hours will not apply because we are giving this week as an off week; we will also be using this week as a development and corporate improvement week.

MyWikis Basic is a new plan for only $5 a month OR $40 a year that will be our low-cost plan. As MyWikis Free is available only certain times a year, MyWikis Basic will include:
  • One-time wiki set-up fee (paid in security deposit) of $8
  • No advertisements
  • No SUCs required
  • One website only
  • Unprioritized support
  • 501(c)(3)s may use MyWikis Basic
  • Nonprofits may use MyWikis Basic
  • Individuals may use MyWikis Basic
  • Privacy feature still allowed
  • Companies may NOT use MyWikis Basic
This is perfect for people who don't need all the features of MyWikis Pro! Existing Pro/Corporate/VPS users may not downgrade to Basic.

Customer satisfaction survey now out

In order to improve the MyWikis customer experience, we're introducing a customer satisfaction survey that's short and simple but easy to do. We really need your responses, and as a reward, one lucky customer will win their free domain! Please fill it out here: http://support.mywikis.com/limesurvey/index.php/776519/ We will take all the responses very seriously and we will use this data to rigorously scrutinize our wrongdoings and our current business practices. When MyWikis was started, we honestly wanted to help customers, but now, we require your help in order to improve the experience. Feel free to ramble on about what we could improve on.

Once again, the survey may be reached here: http://support.mywikis.com/limesurvey/index.php/776519/ Thank you very much and we look forward to improving your wiki experience. We cannot emphasize enough how much we need your responses!

MediaWiki 1.21.3

We will not be upgrading wikis to MediaWiki 1.21.3 because MediaWiki 1.22 will be coming soon, with provided security updates.

Free domain offer!

For Black Friday, we've decided to give away a free domain! All you need to do is visit Twitter, say why you deserve the domain, and tag it with #mywikisfd2013! The best contestant will win a free domain provided by MyWikis! We reserve the right to not give away the domain, as well as refuse somebody a domain.

Make it Pink campaign fails

We are sorry to report that nobody donated anything into the Make it Pink campaign! It does surprise us how many pass through this website and ignore such a well-hearted campaign like this.

This means that nothing will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, unfortuately. The logo will not become pink and it is a shame we cannot change it. We will try another campaign later, probably a Toys for Tots or Salvation Army campaign.

[IMPORTANT] MediaWiki 1.22 update will be available soon

Hello! MediaWiki 1.22 will be available very soon, as it finished development this October. We know that most wikis are active; however, some are not active and it is important we only update the active wikis. If you are interested in getting this update, please go to http://support.mywikis.com/ot and start a support ticket there about updating your wiki. Once 1.22 is out, we will install it for you, as long as you requested it, and for free users, as long as you have SUCs (see below for more info). Here's a few changes the Wikimedia Foundation has made to MediaWiki 1.22:
  • Improved user interface in some areas
  • Lots of technical changes
  • Removal of unused skin that makes wikis slower
Should you have any questions about MediaWiki 1.22, please ask us at http://support.mywikis.com/ot. Thanks!

(Note: For free users, this will cost one SUC (software upgrade credit), which you may find more information about here.)

Closed wikis now redirect to a notice

It is unfortunate when wikis must close, but if they do close, it is up to us to inform others it has. We haven't been doing so for the past year, and so we're changing that. Starting today, closed wikis' URLs will redirect to a shutdown message. This currently only applies to .mywikis.com addresses. .mywikis.org addresses will be converted either later today or at a later date. Previously, wikis' URLs would not resolve at all.
